Calling All Vintage Hounds!

These clothes are all vintage and these examples are only a few of the beauties on the rack. They're amazing--thought to be from the 50's to the 70's and in amazing shape. I think some of these clothes could be considered timeless--how about these beautiful red stripped shorts? You say this isn't the weather for shorts? Hey, summer is coming!
Another timeless example. A beautiful red pant suit--I don't know if that's the proper name for something so classic and yet so casual. Casual elegance? That sounds like a cliche to me but you get the idea.
I remember having something like this in the fifties. Beautiful. Something I've been holding back--should have confessed before you got this far. These are all small clothes--like size 4. Ouch, you say. I agree. The smallest I ever got was a size 9 and that was for a split second. Maybe you know someone this size? I do--you must! Or, lucky you, you are a size 4!
This beautiful serving dish and plate are on the 1/2 off table, good old fashioned glassware like they made years ago.
Here's a view of that 1/2 off table. Besides that bowl and plate I just showed you there are some other bowls you'd love to have (the green one!) and two large bottles toward the back that I swore were antique but am being told otherwise. Look for them, they're in the back on the left and right. A matched pair!
Still another March Dollar Rack. The garments come and go so fast. Whoosh and they're gone!

The Wearing of the Green Is Coming!

St. Patrick's Day is coming and for those of you who hail from Ireland or wherever (we can stretch that a long ways) here are some special items for those on your list. Isn't this plate beautiful and it wishes you luck besides!
A St. Patrick's Day hat and buttons and two four-leaf clover plates! How 'bout that!
Another view of that plate, plus a sweet bear, a rolly polly pig and a great mug. I don't know where we got all these goodies. Oh--look behind Mr. Bear and in front of Rolly Polly you'll see a marvelous little wooden train.
A true mystery picture and you know how I love mysteries! Those that are knowledgable in the mysteries of reflection could explain how a reflection of that plate upon which this beautiful vase resides is sitting sort of in the middle and yet partially hidden behind it! I couldn't find a bit of green in this vase but I had to have my mystery picture.
A very unusual, truly beautiful hand painted tile. Don't you love it?!! Pretend it's green.
Our St Pat's dollar rack. As usual, scrumptious! Maybe there's a little bit of green for the wearing there somewhere.

Surprises!

I walked into the shop today and found surprises! I love it when the antique cupboard has beauties like this bracelet.
This pendant looks like it rose from the sea.
Walk into the next room and the long, middle table holds a different kind of surprise. Games! The whole table is filled with them. This one comes right out of a medieval city in France called Carcassonne. I was there, many years ago. Can you hear a bugle blowing? Walk through that gate and you'll find scenes right out of the 1400's.
At the end of the room you'll find this jacket. Click on it and you'll see some delicate tracery at the bottom. Truly unusual, the color is one that could go with just about any thing: navy, black, brown. Beautiful!
I have the feeling some five year old (hello Theo!) would love these dinosaurs. They are guarding the games. Talk to them nicely and maybe they'll let you buy one!
It's February and we have the usual, amazing dollar rack! Enjoy!

Harley Davidson Mysteries!

Here is Harley in the flesh. Don't you like that debonair look? The hat does it. I can see Harley riding with Marlon in The Wild One. Harley, for now--poor fellow--resides on the table in the middle room.
He is surrounded by his gang. I've never been on a motorcycle, I am deathly afraid of anything that goes fast, but there was a scene in The Wild One that made me think I was missing something. Remember? Marlon has taken the girl he's met in the town he and his gang have invaded for a ride on his motorcycle. There is something in that scene: you can feel the bike under you; you can feel the breeze. Magic!
I'm just showing you this picture because I like the symmetry of that fan-like set of knives (eight of 'em!); matched by the perfect set of spoons and forks displayed below. It's really a pretty darn special set of silver plate actually: nice, simple but elegant design. Sometimes things this old look like they've been run over by a truck.
See that flippy thing waving its arms at you to the right? It refused to let me save this picture until I included it. Really. I tried three times. No luck. Flippy got her way.
I'm sure you've noticed that our Dollar Rack has moved to the clothing room in the back until the weather decides it's going to stay nice. As usual, an amazing display.

A Stampede!

Yesterday morning this large table in the middle room was chuck full of boxes of soap, bottles of fragrances, and much much more. By the end of the day the table wasn't quite bare like Mother Hubbard's Cupboard but it was close. I figure you're the culprits!
These amazing creatures (don't they almost seem real?) feel like they come right out of the Arabian nights. They're oil lamps! All of them come with their own boxes, except for the big guy in the center.
I just love presenting this cupboard because it's so fun clicking on the pictures and seeing what's there. It looks like there are lots of lovely bowls but who knows, until you do the tour?
I love this green bottle and another Santa has made the long journey over the North Pole.
More lovely creatures from the Arabian nights. The purple gentleman toward the right looks like he's going to take right off and perform a lively dance.

More Christmas Wonders!

I was taken back in time and across a great distance by these wonderful dolls. I saw them come in. They are handmade--there's one more I couldn't fit in the picture--and they are lovingly made.My sister-in-law from Philadelphia has a doll like this that has been sitting on a little chair in her living room for as long as I can remember. Don't they look squishable, dolls that are just meant for tea parties!
Talk about things out of the past. City Halls no longer look like this--except in our dreams. Each of these houses (about half a dozen or so remain) comes with their own lights and really, wouldn't this one be wonderful on a mantel?
A exquisite salad bowl and what look like satin ornaments. The bowl gets even better when you click on the picture!
Truly something from my past. This Santa looks like he's come over the North Pole, straight from Norway--and carrying a little Christmas tree, just for you. The plate is beautiful, so delicate--for bread or Christmas cookies?
The way to truly appreciate this beautiful crotched table cloth is to click on the picture. If you were fortunate enough to have a parent that enjoyed beautiful things you'd remember it being brought out for special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas. It needs a big table and a even bigger room to show it off.

You Won't Believe The Shop!

I was overwhelmed. There's no way I can even begin to show you the magic--but I'll try. These reindeer on your mantel? Get there early!
This purse--a beauty! Need I say more?
How about these bracelets? Have you ever seen such a display? Get there early!
This ornament belongs at the top of your Christmas tree.
How about these pins? I love the teapot. Get there early!
This amazing display of village houses (each comes with it's own light) stretches all the way across the bookshelves. Look for the post office. You'll love it!
